Good News!

We are now finally in a position to announce that a new vicar has been appointed.

Interviews took place in March 2026 and we are delighted to say that an offer was made and accepted. Our new incumbent will be Rev Mark Charmley, who is currently Rector of the parishes of St Saviours and Torteval on Guernsey. We needed to wait for King Charles to ratify the appointment before we could announce the new Incumbent! Mark will be responsible for both Wisborough Green and Kirdford with Plaistow parishes (as was Clive).

We look forward to welcoming Mark, his wife Tracy (who is also ordained) and their two grown up children.

Rev Mark & TracyRev Mark writes;

“I have been ordained for 25 years and have spent the last 16 years as Rector of 2 parishes in the beautiful island of Guernsey. I am married to Tracy, who is a teacher specialising in Communication and Autism, and is also ordained.
We have 2 grown up children; Jonathan is an Archaeologist currently working in Guernsey Museum but he will be moving with us. Sophie is a Food Technology Teacher in Bracknell.
To relax I enjoy walking the lanes, gardening – preferably edible crops, reading and spending time with my family.
I am really excited about coming and joining you, getting to know you all as we seek to serve and follow Jesus together.”

 Mark will obviously need to work out his notice period in his existing parishes before making the major move to West Sussex.  We will post again once we have a definite date.
